What this means
The letter omits key facts such as start date, position, salary, employer address/contact or signature, or it appears to be a template with little evidentiary value.
Why it matters to the officer
IRCC’s visitor-visa document guidance specifically lists the information an employer letter should contain and explains that the letter may show stable employment and expected return.
What the officer compares
Letterhead, date, job details, salary, manager/HR contact, company address and signature; consistency with payslips and banking.
How to strengthen a new application
Follow the current IRCC document guidance and add approved leave/expected return where available. Use verifiable corporate contact details.
