The note, the notes or the file?

What to look for

The decision note you have
It gives the final officer's reasons. If it answers your questions, you may only want help reading it. Or nothing at all.
The officer's notes
Also called GCMS or CAIPS notes. What officers wrote while they checked your application. Usually their concerns and the reasons for the decision.
The application file
The forms and documents IRCC holds on you, as they were sent in.
Which to choose
The notes are usually enough to see what the officer thought. Add the file if you have no copy of what was sent in. For example, if an agent applied for you. IRCC may hold back parts of either. It names the law it used.
